Yes, it's wordpress 3.0 compatible and yes, updates are included forever free. If you want to upgrade to the dev license, email me and I will send you an upgrade notice or invoice so you can pay the difference between the dev pack and your current purchase.

Is this Wordpress 3+ compatible? Are updates included in the package? If I purchase a personal theme what will it cost to upgrade to the developer package?

Hi ed,

This is a function of the theme.
The WP Spire theme allows comments to be displayed on your sales pages.
You also have an option to change the comment headings, or hide the entire comment block on all or on selected pages.

The plugin version of WP Spire also can hide the comments, but it can't change the comment headings.

Currently, the plugin version can't display the navigation bar (the top links).
I might add it in the next release.

But if when do, you can just make use of wordpress' attributes panel for pages, where you can choose a page to be a child page of some other page.

The theme version only allows Links To be shown, but we can make changes to the template file so that it's pages that is shown instead of links, on top.

Hi,
How do you get the theme to display comments like you have your blog. Is the format a function of your theme..or are you using a plug-in? If plug-in which one..?

Hi John,

Using the plugin version, can a parent sales page be created with additional pages ? The parent page name appears on the navigation bar while the additional pages as a drop down menu to the parent page ?

This is possible in the theme that I am using. Will it work for the plugin pages also ?

Regards,

Eric

Hi Dave,

I'm not sure what you mean by 'content areas'? Are these areas in the post, or the whole post itself?

WP Spire can transform the look of 1 (or more) posts into that of a sales page look. However, it will not automatically pick up the dimensions of your current blog template, nor will it pick up it's design.

When you decide to transform the look of a page or post into a sales page using WP Spire, you will still need to tweak the settings (background, width, header, footer, etc.). The default look of a page when you transform it into a sales page is similar to this page - blue background, black border, and around 760px wide (though I changed this page dimension to be wider to fit some images). But you can change all of these.

You like paste your sales copy into a wordpress post, then select WP Spire as it's template. Then that page will have a default one column page with blue background. From there you can choose another background from a drop down menu, or use a plain background color, or use your own uploaded background image (can be similar to your blog - but you'll need to specify the url). You can also adjust the width dimension of the page, add headers or footer images, add several footer links, change typography for that page and etc. You can also use the built-in designs(built-in themes above) which was intended for a one-click page design without the need to adjust the settings.

I have a website designed by a developer for my business with WP backend etc. My interest in WP Spire is not to have additional minisites, squeeze pages etc but rather incorporate the sales letters into my existing blog. I have access to the content but not the template design. With the plug-in version, can I literally plug-in the sales page into my existing content areas and if so, will WP Spire automatically pick up the dimensions of the template or is it possible to change the width of the sales page plug in etc for a seamless integration? I hope this makes sense.

Regards

You just need wordpress installed. It doesn't have to have any content. WP Spire will be the theme, and like any other theme you can activate and deactivate it. So no, you don't need a blog operational, just installed.
